Boiler Order Update

Update: Wednesday, July 10 at 1:56 pm

As previously advised, the Roseland Pumping Station experienced a mechanical failure on Tuesday evening, July 9th. This resulted in outages throughout parts of the Auburn Gresham, Beverly, and Morgan Park communities. Repair crews responded to the situation and restored water service.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Illinois EPA and the Chicago Department of Water Management issued a boil order for buildings and homes east of Sacramento Ave., north of 119th St., west of I-57, south of 87th St., and southwest of Beverly Ave. Full instructions from the Department of Water Management can be found by clicking hereThe boil order remains in place until at least tomorrow morning, Thursday, July 11th. We will send another email once we receive confirmation that the Department of Water Management has completed its testing. Residents in the impacted areas can pick up a complimentary case of water (one per household) from Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood Drive.

I’d like to thank the Department of Water Management Commissioner, Randy Conner, and the staff at the Roseland Pumping Station for their efforts to address this critical situation. I’d also like to thank the residents who continue to be impacted by this issue for their ongoing patience. Once again, I will provide an update to the community when the boil order has been lifted.
